Liz Kalloch: I am a mixed media artist and graphic designer. Much of my mixed media work includes deeply layered and textured mixed media pieces which reflect my vision of a world where symbols stand for an idea, but also a feeling or an experience. Symbols can draw us together, they can separate us, they can eclipse and they can inspire. Much of my work is informed by these thoughts: As we move forward into the future, as we create our new mythologies, pulling from the old, the ancient, the mythic, and merging it with what is being created in the present, who will we be? Will we remember the mysteries, the inner worlds, the ritual? What is it that will define our humanity: spirit, tradition, truth, beauty, the divine and the mundane. Where are we going?
