On February 20th 2003, I crossed paths with someone I hoped would stay in my life for quite some time. We spoke very frequently and I was immersed in him. I gave him my heart and my soul and there was never a moment when I didn’t miss him.
“he got mine with him” - that is, my fiance left for an overseas trip, and i couldn’t stop thinking about him. that’s why he had my heart with him all the time.
“Sweet Memory” features an afternoon of a couple in a resturant. They’re both looking out the window, thinking of the lovely times they had together.
This piece is a shrine to the Goddess Yemaya, who has always been with me in some form or another, either as Mother Mary, Isis or another Goddess of the Sea, guiding my soul and my spirit, and always warming my heart.
This piece which is made from collage and acrylic paint, was a heart-felt depiction of dealing with depression, defeat, and trying to break out of a mold. I think it speaks to heart and soul of a person struggling with depression.
