Our current cover girl weighs in on a fantastic book, find out what she thinks!
Makeshift, disjointed families, compromising relationships and a series of non-homes are the driving forces of Elizabeth MacKenzie’s prize-winning and astute debut, Stop That Girl.
a fictional foray… Beginning whenever she walked in the door until after dinner was on the table, her daughters bitched and whined. She had discovered a glass (or two) of wine made it a little more bearable. She sometimes longed for the days when a handful of goldfish crackers would quiet her daughters.

The older I get, the more I learn that I certainly have room to grow. By growth, I don’t mean physically – God knows I could stand to shrink in a few places. I’m talking about mental, spiritual and emotional growth. Friends are a great resource for this kind of growth. In everyday conversations, a […]
As 2005 draws nearer, so does that looming word: “resolutions”. I started pondering my resolutions for the new year a few weeks ago. The usual ones popped up: lose weight, work less and play more, get such-and-such going for the business etc. You know - the same resolutions you’ve made for the last few years […]
As opinionated as I am, there are many moments when I simply don’t know what to say. It isn’t as if the rambling inner-voice inside my head has quieted. On the contrary, that little voice continues a non-stop dialogue telling me what I should be doing, what I shouldn’t be doing, and that I should […]
Each edition when I sit down to write this piece 101 topics go through my mind. There are so many important topics I’d like to address and some unimportant ones I’d like to just discuss. I started pondering this editions theme though - Seeking Peace - and what that means to me. Forewarning: This […]

Quite the contrary, she is intelligent, confident, accomplished, beautiful, and in total control of her life, her career and her clients. She is also quite happy, thank you.
From Matisse:“I chose my career because I knew I’d be good at it, and I am. Yes, I could have chosen a different path
How does one justify “fighting” for peace?
Even if you aren’t religious. Even if you aren’t Christian. All Spiritual santuaries do instill a feeling of peace.
Sitting peacefully on a rock, looking across the cold misty water that edges Copenhagen is Hans Christian Anderson’s Little Mermaid.
This is an interpretation by me illustrating what a woman carries around with her today and how that reflects on her seeking her own peace.

Finding peace in general is hard…
I often wonder why it is that when I feel at my lowest I seek out a church and enter it, just to be able to find the overwhelming sense of peace that I know will embrace me from the moment I walk through the door.
It is hard to put the painting in a certain category as I do it because there is an urgency in my soul that will not leave me alone until its done.
For Seeking Peace, I am looking inward. My entry has to do with something intensely personal, that I?d like to share with everyone.
