Minnows of Armageddon by Lydia Suarez
A charcoal sky spurns twilight,
beside my window
a lantern’s cast exposes
a squadron of silver snowflakes
on a mission.
Snow
descends diving like minnows,
after the ashes of their fallen brothers
and I dream of you.
Blown by gusts like tides
straight down like amoeba to populate earth
like streamers from a rocket
like white comets.
How can you sleep my love when the end is here?
Like confetti and intergalactic dust we fall
and I dream of you.
