Woodland melody through forest green
Walking through hill and dale
Listening for Mother Nature’s song
While walking on the trail
Fluttering leaves rustle in the wind
Floating in the air while falling to the ground
Arrayed in red, orange and gold they dance
To a Symphony in crackling sound
Flapping wings swooping low
Diving for its prey
Scampering feet, crunching sound
Sudden silence as they pray
Whispering waters swirling in tune
Over rocks all the day long
Gurgling magic in musical tone
Slapping the shore singing its song
Woodland Melody through the forest green
Harmonizing Mother Nature’s song
Whispering winds complete the sonnet
Awakening our senses as we walk along
Nancy Lee Shrader resides in Southern, West Virginia with her husband Dennis. She has three children, Laurie, Denny and Timmy, another son David died in 1977 from cancer, at the age of three. She has three grandchildren, Justin, Michael and Lyndsey, who are often cast as main characters in her books. Nancy Lee is the author of three published works, “IS IT NOW? The End of Days!“, “IS HE MESSIAH? Messianic Prophecies Revealed!” and “The Curse of Mayweather House“. She also has many other works in progress. To Nancy Lee’s credit, she is a member of the Appalachian Authors Guild and the National Writers Union; she also belongs to a writers’ group that meets at her local library twice a month.
