Dress Code by Patricia Wellingham-Jones

The young blonde waitress
flashes her dark eyes,
a warning not to comment.
Over low-hung black jeans
she wears a skimpy black tank top.
It almost conceals a navel ring
and leaves bare her tanned muscular arms
covered from wrist through shoulder
past shoulder blade in back
with tattoos.

Patricia Wellingham-Jones, a former psychology researcher and writer/editor, is a three-time Pushcart Prize nominee.
