First Bone of Woman by Patricia Wellingham-Jones

The first bone of woman
shines with a spectral glow,
knits itself to the next then another
until the framework brackets its form.
Flesh pads the jointed structure,
soft skin covers the curves.

Inside the alluring package
the first thought of woman
flares with fierce light.
Meshes into another,
weaves a loose web.

The new She takes her first step,
thinks for Herself.
