Strike a Pose by Shelly Wiseberg

Consumed by their own image of perfection
Mirrored in high fashion of observation
Running away from snapped cameras
Hidden in fenced mansions
Big financial rewards
God and Goddesses in taylor made clothing
Free merchandise for special people
Put on pedestals and admired from afar
Do not get too close or you maybe attacked by an angry star
Privacy taken by curious onlookers
Self indulgence of the good life
All night parties in drunken binges
Mentally unhinges at Betty Ford
Blowing money up their noses
While the world starves on
Humanitarian by some over indulgence by others
American land of the free saluting the flag of extravagance
A cover of glitter all is not gold what is the true story
Of the beautiful and the bold

Shelly Wiseberg is a writer and author of five books of poetry.
