Run, Run, faster..harder..
Don’t stop, you’re almost there.
Perfection.
Swift, smooth, faster than the wind.
Perfection.
Pain in your side,can’t keep going.
Shrug it off, run harder…
Perfection.
Eyes watering, as you run in the frigid air.
Faster, and faster,gasping for breath.
Keep going…
Sprint, give it your all..
Your legs give in.
STOP.
You did it! You’re finally here!
Perfection.
But, wait….you’re all alone.
Walk away,chase perfection tomorrow…
Or decide to live without it…

My name is Robyn Shaffer, I’m 25, and teach pre-school. My days are filled with not only my wonderful 4 year old, but with the joy of reaching other kids as well, and an excuse to act goofy all day long. I have always enjoyed reading and writing poems. It is like therapy for me as it is for others I think. It’s cool to see how something so small can seem like something so great and meaningful when you see it in a different way, like in poetry.
